Posted a while back about a whining noise from the PDK in my Cayman and I got a few useful replies so I figured I would update. The whine turned out to be low fluid, which sounds simple but apparently a lot of people skip the PDK fluid service because Porsche used to market it as lifetime. It is not lifetime. They drained it, replaced the filter and refilled with the correct fluid, and the noise is basically gone now. I also had them check the mechatronic unit while it was open and they said it looked healthy, which was a huge relief. I had come across gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/porsche at some point during my searching but the deciding factor was a member here who messaged me about their own experience. Cost was way less than the rebuild quote I was dreading. If your PDK is making any new noise, get the fluid checked first, seriously.
