Why am I getting Error 640 while expanding a ZIP file on my Mac?
#1
The error 640 situation occurs when the user tries to unzip a Mac archive, but the archive file is corrupted, incomplete, or was damaged during downloading/transfer. Another cause for the problem can be that the ZIP file includes compression types that are not supported, invalid file structures or permission issues that can prevent macOS from accessing the content of the file. At times, the lack of storage or even issues with the internal Archive Utility may cause the trigger of the problem. To resolve the issue, you could re-download the ZIP file, relocate it to another folder, verify the permissions of the file, clean up the disk, or alternatively use some other extraction software for opening the archive.
